This is SSA's link to Compassionate Allowances. It may be too detailed but it will provide the "official" information on compassionate allowance.
Jeep in min you can earn up to $1,000 net a months which after legitimated deduction like medications, etc. Check with SSA to find out what deductions you can take and add that to $1,000 and that's the limit you can earn while on SSDI.
I suggest you start writing your application now. It took me 6 months to write all the answers, doctor's letters and collection of medical evidence but I won my benefits in three months because the application was so thorough. I do not recommend on line or phone interviews to apply. The application can be found in PDF format at
