Mamagoo,
Do you have any written Drs notes on file with employer?

Some of it depends on how large the employer is but most larger companies will work with you if there is a diagnosis and records /notes from dr on file with HR dept.

But if it is crucial job that you do and not easily covered by others, then a job/duties change in the company can be requested.

My employer tried quite a few changes for me, but they didn't really ask my input on what I thought would be the best to keep me from more work injuries {RSIs} , they stayed in the hand use intensive jobs category - so just didn't work out. But they did try. I was probably too injured by then anyway.
