Hi Faith
I am so sorry that you and your mum are having to go through this. It must be very scary for you and your family. I don't have any medical knowledge, so I can't comment about your mum's progress,
What I do know, is that the brain is very mysterious and heals very slowly. Sometimes, when areas are blocked or messages are unable to get through, the brain will 're-wire' itself and find alternative pathways to recovery. Your mum's brain will most likely take quite some time to 're-absorb' the blood that has seeped into it.
I don't want to ramble, so I won't go on and on, but don't lose hope - the body and the brain are incredible things. Make sure that you keep talking to your mum even if she is in a coma. I think that it is a really good sign that she is breathing somewhat independently - but as I said, I am not a doctor.
Please keep us posted - my thoughts prayers and best wishes are for you and your family.
