It shouldn't worsen
I have PCS and I have for a year and a half. From the tons of hours that I have spent reading up on it I have learned a lot!
First of all, it should not get worse after the first month or so, if it does you should see a doc and have a CT or MRI done. Second, most people get over it in 6 months, some people, like me, are lucky enough to have it for over a year and some even more lucky people have it for life. I am telling you the facts because after seeing 6 docs who gave me absolutely nothing all I wanted was the hard truth not "Oh, you'll be fine." Usually the symptoms to remain are headaches, personality changes, and the problems with education, if these symptoms exist and if they persist for more than 6 months. The biggest way to avoid having it for a long time is don't hit or jerk your head. Also, as time goes on the symptoms should lessen or the injured person should at least learn ways to cope. Caffine helps a little with my headaches or taking a nap.
I'm sorry I am not very cheerful, but it is hard to get the truth about it and it is better, I think, to have the truth than to just keep wondering and being fustrated and hoping that you will get better soon and then getting disappointed.
Good luck on your journey.
