Hello,

I have tried methadone, oxycontin, morphine and norco 10/325. Methadone made me so tried I just couldn't concentrate. Morphine really did nothing for my pain. My doctor then gave me oxycontin (20mg) and norco for breakthrough pain. I was also prescribed Effexor, which is an antidepressient, as it has been shown to work on chronic pain as well as depression. This has worked the best. I only take (1) oxycontin during the day and about (5) norcos a day, my Effexor is taken at night (75mg). My doctor is very good about prescriptions and I think having a doctor like this is so much better than having a doctor who gives you RX based on his opinion instead of what works best for you. Some doctors will refuse to write oxycontin because of the controversy around this type of drug. I feel the best way is to try each RX and go with what is best for you. Since we all react differently to medications, what is right for me may not work for you. Good luck!!
