I think either is fine. What is the question?

If you don't eat any foods with magnesium in them, then more supplements are needed.

Typical SlowMag was designed for one tablet twice a day use.

You are already using 4? Why not space them differently?

Magnesium is not like a drug. It slowly inserts into enzyme systems and works that way. An hour or two here and there you should not be feeling mag withdrawal. If you are, something is not right. Perhaps you need B6 too? It works with the magnesium.

I wouldn't take more than 4 SlowMag a day, without doctor supervision.

There is another long acting type called Magnesium Lactate.
You could try that instead as an alternative.
