This is a little late, but I am going ot add it isn for later reference.

I agree with MrsD on the drug class of athe Atypical Antipsychotics and their tendency for akathisias and more. Many psychiatrists still deny the likelihood of this, as do many psychophamarcologists. I have found the neurologists and the pharmacists more readily admit to these side-effects and are much more careful about these meds, in general.

This includes the drug Seroquel. I have seen many people with akathisia from short-term Seroquel. Yet, this drug is prescribed widely, for just about anything. It is upsetting my neurologists terribly, as they are seeing the effects upon people and know, in some cases, there is a much more appropriate med avail. than is being prescribed. Akathisia can continue long after the drug is discontinued. TD can be permanent.

These drugs are okay when they must be used; yet, when there are other options, please look at the potential for akathisia, for TD, and for blood glucose issues. Stay as safe as you can!
