I only cut the really little patches - the 12 mcg - in half. The others I would fold over so that only a portion of the patch touched my skin. You are right - the patches are never supposed to be cut up. You can tell I was breaking a lot of rules just becuase I REALLY did not want to be on meds anymore.

I took Suboxone for about 20 days. I wish I had had it for 40 days. I don't know what else you can use for detox from Fentanyl. It is tough stuff to get off of!! I now feel great, it has been 7 or 8 weeks, I've gained back some weight and have most of my energy back. It's also been 17 days since my last ketamine infusion, I am having another one this Friday, so I will find out if any of my issues with my stomach, exhaustion, etc. are related to that or not (my doc doesn't think so...).

Good luck. I knew that Fentanyl was going to be tough to get off of because I had looked it up on the web beforehand. But I was still surprised by how rotten I felt and for how long!! YUK!!!!

XOXO Sandy

I almost had a heart attack when I read that because cutting them in half can cause an overdose because the insides of it are in gel form and you could put to much or to little in whichever side you cut and put on your skin. Wow, that is scary. You are lucky you are alive to tell me about it. A ? I have for you is how long were you on the Suboxone? You said you thought you needed it longer. I was just curious how long it takes to wean off this stuff. I am giving my body a three week break and then trying the Neurontin (again) and praying I don't have bad side effects like I did years ago. I see Dr. S beginning of August so I will be able to tell him all the things and he can direct me in the right direction. Thanks again for all your help. And thanks to all for your great answers. It helped me so much. It is nice to know we are not the only ones going through this mess.
take care,
