First off, I see a very expensive product.

It is similar to many powders people take as nutrient supplements.

Most people can get "lost" in the very long list.

But here are some facts.

1) the magnesium in it for once a day use is useless, since it is oxide form. Magnesium oxide is not appreciably absorbed and it remains in the GI tract and is eliminated there. 80mg is not enough to be laxative for most people, as 400-500mg is a laxative dose.

2) There is alot of manganese in there, probably because of all the vegetable powders.

3) There are 2 sources of Omega-3 alpha linolenic acid in one serving which are less than if you took them separately or ate some Smart Balance peanut butter.

4) the grapeseed extract, which is the most useful antioxidant listed, is in low amount. Typical doses of it for RSD or other major therapeutic use would be 300mg or more/day.

5) 2 grams of a super fruit blend powder? I think eating the real fruit would be a better idea and provide more nutrients and fiber.

6) Maca? this is an herb promoted to males to enhance sexual performance.

I don't see anything particularly alarming in this product. But I don't see anything particularly novel in it either. You can read a catalog for Puritan's pride and see lists of nutrients that are very similar for much less $$. So if you can afford it, that is up to you.

There might be some trace elements present in some of the extracts that "may" provide some nutritional support for some people, but that is a definite "MAY" and depends on your own diet.

As far as RSD goes, there are papers showing using Vitamin C (an antioxidant) when trauma or surgery is done to ankles/wrists, prevents RSD from occurring. Also a previous poster here, Vic, was very definite on the use of high dose grapeseed extract for RSD to prevent spread and control it. Using quality antioxidants in high doses may be an idea to further explore. This shake, is designed with low doses of almost everything, so as not to
cause damage or be controversial. It is basically a "food" and not a therapeutic intervention.

Keep in mind safety issues whenever using extracts and blends of this type. The more extracts the more chance of having poor quality slip in. If any of those ingredients come from China? Well, you get the picture. There have been random testing on herbs from India being contaminated too with heavy metals. (mostly with lead).
