Default Relief from migraines associated with menstrual cycle

I think I am jumping in here a little late but wanted to share my experiences. I too suffered from migraines. I took a triptan and ended up in CICU for 5 days. Diagnosed with unstable angina (which I do not have). I was told never to use triptans again. Well, god bless my OB/GYN. She was willing to think outside the box. If the headaches followed the menstrual cycle......eliminate the menstrual cycle. Alot of the medical community scoffed but she held her ground. She even fought the insurance company and prevailed. First we tried ablation. That lasted for 9 months. When the periods returned, so did the headaches. So, total hysterectomy. I was 46 years old and it has been a GOD SEND. I thank that my doctor was willing to think outside the box for without her, who knows where I would be!!
