I live near the HQ of MicroVas (Tulsa, OK). The owner Wayne Buchner spoke at one of our neuropathy group's meetings. He made some claims about the system that I think were sensational and overstated, for example "will absolutely reverse neuropathy" etc. I later called him and asked several questions about the system. I asked him several times the difference between MicroVas and TENS and he did not give me a satisfactory answer. Anyway I tried the treatment and it did not help me significantly. But that doesn't mean it won't help you. I say it's worth a try.

They put some large sticky pads on my feet and other parts of my body, usually four pads at a time. An electric current is passed between pairs of pads, for example on opposite sides of the foot, so the current goes deep into the tissue. I could feel the current but it was not painful. It was sometimes painful when they removed the pads, especially from hairy areas (legs).

Here are my complete notes on the treatment if you are interested:

Jan. 26, 2009 - First visit to Dr. Jack Brown and first MicroVas treatment. Dr. Brown told me the same as other drs--We have no cure for this, the best we can do is improve your quality of life. He gave me a prescription for Tramadol 50 mg and said to take 1-2 per day. Also gave me samples of Metanx, a "medicinal food" as it says on the label. It is a mix of vitamins & supplements. I don't plan to start these until I see the results of the MicroVas. After the first MicroVas treatment, I believe my right foot felt better for two hours or so, then was back to normal.
I was treated with MicroVas 5 times by Trish at Dr. Jack Brown's office in Sand Springs (Sand Springs Medical Associates). Treatments were 1/26, 1/29, 2/2, 2/4, 2/5. The only improvement I ever felt was for maybe 2 hours after the first treatment my feet felt a little better. Otherwise no improvement, possibly a little worse at times. The strength of the treatment felt fairly strong. Dr. Brown thought I should have seen improvement after 5 treatments if I was going to. He suggested accupuncture & gave me a card for someone. He suggested one other course of treatment but I can't remember and can't find my notes, may find them later, I'm pretty sure they were in a small notebook.
