Just my opinion: kids haven't changed, and they are not lazy. Kids don't run around outside, and haven't for a while now because somewhere along the way, we got hysterical about child abducters. The kids next door can't walk two short city blocks to school, cause, you know, some stranger (stranger danger!!!!) is going to grab 'em. The parents actually drive them to and from instead of letting them take a five-minute walk. And I think this is the norm these days.
I understand that there really are child abductions, and if anyone here has ever had one touch their life personally, my heart goes out to you. But I really think child obesity is statistically far more dangerous. Is there even any evidence that children are abducted any more now than they ever were?
