Default basal ganglionic calcifications HELP, ANYBODY???

Hi, about 3 months ago my wife and I were involved in a car accident. She had a CT at the hospital. We went today and got her records for the insurance company, and ourselves as well. The CT was negative as far as her injuries but it said acute basal ganglionic calcifications. She has hypothyroidism and is on levothyroxine for it, well controlled. I cannot make sense of what I am reading when I look this up in medline, etc. Please help!!!

We're also concerned that the ER did not say anything to us about this. Could this be a benign condition?
