Was this what you're looking for?

Did you ever hear about the red-ball exercise?

A big red beach ball floating down a river with white water rapids.

Now hold the big red beach ball under the water and try to prevent it from moving.

Picture yourself as that big red beach ball -- what do you feel like?

Now -- let the big red beach GO! Watch it dip under the water and pop back up. Watch it bump into the sides and float back out.

Do you see/feel the difference in what you feel like internally?

Here's a picture of a red ball -- imagine what happens to that ball with HERDS of dogs jumping on it -- it goes under and pops back up again

Playing Ball on Running Water:
by David Reynolds
(go to your local library and try to get any book written by David Reynolds)

Our minds are just like those pools full of dogs and red balls Words and thoughts are always running in and out and slamming the doors and bouncing off the walls. It's what you DO with those words and thoughts. If they just stay as words and thoughts, that's "normal" (my least-favorite adjective). If those thoughts and words become actions -- actions that cause no damage and no harm, that's still "normal"...

Just as the exercise says, once -- just once -- try letting yourself just *FLOAT* with the thoughts and the words -- don't try to hold them back -- and see where they take you.

Hope this helps.
