Losing vision on my right side. Trying to find some help.
Hey everyone again. Not doing so well, really think I'm somewhat screwed.
Summer was suppose to be for relaxing, but life kinda got in the way and well. I'm starting to think that I'm going to need to be a hermit for a while if I want to at least somewhat recover. Heck, that doesn't work because I've ended up punching myself in my sleep at least two times this summer.
Anyways, a month ago I was helping my girlfriend move out. I was taking apart the bed from the top, and turned out that she didn't secure the lock on the bottom part of the bed in place. It started to come apart on top so I rushed out of it, and ended up jumping about two or three feet off the bed.
Apparently that was enough to mess up my head, and a week or so later I've been noticing that a significant of my right-sided vision is now blurred. Images that stretch across my vision such as TV and my laptop, sort of stretch outwards.
Now, I've been seeing some doctors but it's been a hilariously soul crushing experience. I was "diagnosed" with ADD at the age of 3 (what a ****ing joke), and they're trying to pinpoint the problems on that old thing rather than my head being hit a bunch of times.
Whatever, I got an appointment with a nuero-psyche and we're taking a head test. I forgot what it technically is but the interesting thing about it is that I've taken the same test BEFORE my head became infinitely concussed a couple years back and it'll be interesting to see if they can directly compare the two tests to see the differences pre and post concussion.
Anyways, went to an eye doctor about my loss of vision. He wasn't that much help either. Took a bunch of tests to hear "your eyes are fine, your vision problem is because of your concussion" and that I didn't need any glasses. We have a follow up test to see where exactly my blind spots are. But I think it's going no where.
So anyways, I stressed out all semester with classes only to, during summer, lose my ability to enjoy television, reading, or videogames because half of my field of view is messed up. Life, huh?
Wondering though, my head has it bad now. I wonder if anything will ever recover. Wondering if my vision will go back. Wondering if this pursuit of medical help will result in anything beneficial. Is there anything I can do to try to recover my eyesight?
