Hey Bugguy!
10 yrs is a long time! Are you tangled up with WorkComp in this? I can't remember if you mentioned that or not......sometimes that can drag on and on and really make things seem never-ending.
BUT, nonetheless, you're among friends here, so just let it all hang out!
We KNOW what this does to a person's life! Now, you're heading in the direction of the SCS, which (I admit) I was skeptical at first and didnt' want to go this route.....kinda like Mark mentioned.
But, now that i can sit back and look thru hindsight and almost wish i would have done this 2 years ago when my Dr first mentioned it. But at that time i thought for sure I'd be able to get my issues taken care of without having a strange 'device' in me !!
I've had Peripheral Neuropathy in both legs for over 5 years and to this day have no idea what or why i ended up like this! I spent so many hours online looking for answers......that just complicated it all the more.
So, when i realized that i had better just 'surrender' and do this 'SCS' thing, i read up on it and realized that it has excellent results for people with lower extremity issues (just like you)...and Mark...and so many others.
The best part about the whole thing was finding people (REAL people!) just like me. I studied thru all the medical propaganda and 'patient advocates' on their websites, but the most valuable input has been right here.
Talking with down to earth people who just want their lives back. Simple as that. We each have our own story to tell, but the common bond that unites us all is the fact that we've become 'candidates' for this 'butt buzz' thing
Anyway, so right now you are trying to work thru some medication issues.
We've all been there, that's for sure. i don't know HOW many different 'coctails' i've tried and some backfired on me bigtime (Like you with the Lyrica)
The SCS doesn't solve the universe, but it sure has proven to get me out of the pharmaceutical nitemare, that's for sure.
We'll all jump aboard your new thread here, and team up for you as you work your way thru the gammet of hoops and red tape. It's kind of a drawn out process, but I honestly believe you'll end up with a huge improvement in your quality of life!
I hope you have a goodstanding relationship with your Dr? If you feel he/she is well credentialed in this, then that's sure a good start.
Glad your here!
Rae
