I had a scs implanted, it made me spread... I had it removed... i was fine... I had major surgery on my stomach last summer and I was fine.

They can give you some precautionary meds... let your anesthesiologist know and they may be willing to give you some ketamine during your surgery. or do an epidural.. or do nerve blocks.
