Welcome

So sorry you're having problems. You've come to the right place for information. There's so many things to read about.

I have some disc desiccation, actually for many years now. I am stable with that after my epidurals X3 in 2006. I also have been through PT and use LED and infrared light therapy pads if I have a flare.

Desiccation is basically a drying out of the disc or discs. Your discs are soft tissue (meaning not bone), cushion/shock absorbers if you will, for the vertebral (bone) spinal column. Discs are between your vertebrae so you don't rub bone on bone and crush and irritate the nerves and arteries in your spinal column that eixt to supply your extremities.

It is also a degenerating/aging processes. Degeneration can start because of an injury. Smoking dries your discs out (former smoker). Your genes have a lot to do with your body. Repetitive motions can cause degeneration to occur. poor posture can cause problems with your spine.

I hope you find answers and things to help you.

No question is too silly here. So make yourself at home and just jump in when you feel comfortable.

See ya around....
