Yes. If you click onto MLSO on Google,you will see that sun spot(Solar Flare)right in the middle of the sun pointing directly at earth. That's a cool thing. It actually looks like a black spot.
I hope that we do see the Northern Lights.
Ham operators use this solar condition. There signal skips off of the Ionosphere,and they can talk much farther away. I turned on my Shortwave radio a little while ago,and yes,the radio stations are coming in from great distances.
It may be noticed on the AM broadcast band,depending on the conditions of the solar flare,day,and night. BF
