Hi Kitty,

It is not hype at all. You are wise to reconsider using it on a daily basis. Fluoride is being represented on the market as a substance that prevents tooth decay but it misleads the public by not listing the harmful side effects that it causes humans and by not listing how the fluoride is actually manufactured.

Info on fluoride is easily researched on the net......Tuberose.com is one place.....
According to the US Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry......Fluorine compounds or fluorides are among the top 20 of 275 substances posing the most significant threat to human health. Fluorides are cumulative toxins. The fact that fluorides accumulate in the body is the reason that U.S. law requires the Surgeon General to set a Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) for fluoride content in public water supplies as determined by the EPA. It is total fluoride intake from all sources which must be considered for any adverse health effect evaluation, including intake by ingestion, inhalation and absorption through the skin.

Another informative site that states articles from dental and medical journals, scientific and independent research dating back as far as 1943.....

There is no reason for the average person of any age to use or consume fluoride. People who have had extensive head or neck radiation therapy may benefit from minimal usage of topical fluoride treatments because radiation destroys the salivary glands which leads to severe dry mouth and tooth decay. However, the risks of using it may outweigh the benefits in the majority of cases especially when the person could be rinsing with Xylitol which will naturally reduce the acidity in the saliva and help to stimulate the salivary glands without causing any ill side effects.

What made you look into the fluoride issue?

Is all this hype true? Is flouride really as bad for you as these articles state? Should I try to find a flouride-free toothpaste and mouthwash?
