You should be able to find the windows sound & turn it off in the control panel -
sounds and audio devices - sounds tab - then look for alarm in the list or listen to the sounds to find the one that's the same.

I don't like any of the sounds so I just select No sounds -- speakers will still work fine for music & videos etc - just none of the windows sounds will happen.

Jo:

I did EXACTLY what you said to do. I went to control panel, to sounds and audio devices and it had 3 prompts.,

1. Adjust the system volume

2. change the sound scheme

3. change the speaker setting.

I chose number 2. There was NO PLACE to choose 'no sounds"

I have XP, maybe you have VISTA?

So what do I do now?

Oh, I told Alan and he said "Oh, that's one of my Banners it's a commercial"

I don't care if it's a commercial, or WHATEVER. I don't want to hear THUNDER every 15 minutes.

So if you know what to do in Windows XP, let me know

and thanks much

Melody
