I am dealing with butt pain right now. The gluteus maximus muscle can be very painful for so many of us. I get pain on both butt cheeks, usually not at the same time, thankfully. I sat on an ice pack last night which did help. As Koala says, there are exercises that help keep that muscle stretched.

Day before yesterday, I started to get this cold spot behind/below my right knee, the butt muscle was already hurting. It hit me yesterday afternoon, either my neuropathy was flaring causing a nerve to make the muscle spasm, or the muscle spasm was cauing nerve pain...which ever, I want it to stop!

I did just return from vacation, driving 800 miles there, then 800 miles back and I am sure that is part of the issue. I have lost a lot of weight this year and my butt has no padding anymore, so I have been having lots of issues with pain.

We urge all doctors to take time to listen to your patients.. don't "isolate" symptoms but look at the whole spectrum. If a patient tells you s/he feels as if s/he's falling apart and "nothing seems to be working properly", chances are s/he's right!
