Cathydmommy - the ALJ may have made a bench decision without the need for a hearing, but there is no percentage disabled unless it is all or nothing. For SSA, you are either disabled or not, 100% or 0%. No catastrophic or other ratings.
Also, if you request a hearing, the ALJ cannot deny your case without holding the hearing. It could be dismissed if you don't show up, but it cannot be denied without a face to face, unless you waive the face to face.
