I put a couple on my roof during our re-roof after hurricane Ike. They work.

Get ones that have been approved by Dade County Florida - ie, Lomanco. If ya go with a power ventilator, consider the solar powered jobs - no electrical hook-up.

As a side note - I had a couple on my roof when we lived in Florida. They didn't leak. Hey! Guess what! It's August 24th! 18 years ago today we lost a house (the turbine ventilators stayed). Hurricane Andrew. South Florida.
