i am glad that Derrick has a responsive doctor who is keeping tabs on him during this time.

i also hope he can find a dose where the Dilantin is adequate and remains at a stable level, if it was helping him. some people turn out to be inconsistent metabolizers and when that is the case it is very hard to manage and sometimes has to be d/c'd. not only because of the need to keep a therapeutic-and-non-toxic level, but also because it can make it impossible to manage coadjuvant medications because the changing level can affect levels of many, many other meds.

anyway, this doc does sound good... i am sure he will figure things out and get Derrick in a good place again, by hook or by crook.
