Default Im Free!! I can drive!

Hi everyone

Just got back from my review with my Consultant. He was very impressed with my incision sites and say although I do still have some swelling and bruising at the leads incision it is still early days(4 weeks) Im very impatient but he was pleased overall. I then asked him about driving as Ive read one or two of you guys have been driving....Well he did give me an odd look He said, 'you know its only 4 weeks, whats the rush' I told him that there was no rush as such but I do like to venture out and about occasionally and if I have my car all the better. So he told me to 'take it easy' no twisting around which I cant do anyway due to my spinal fusions. I said well once I know I can drive then I can decide if I need to or want to. I dont actually feel up to it at the moment!

He said that I have to be very careful with the IPG as its so close to the surface. After having plasters on for the past few weeks, I felt ok about it, but today he took them all off and told me I dont need them now which makes me more aware of the IPG......he told me that it will take 3/4 months for the skin to be strong enough over the IPG, that at the moment try not to have it banged off anything or to be touching it yuck!!!!......

So overall I was pleased with my visit. He told me that Im at the clinic next Thurs 9th Sept for my programming. And that I can have up to 20 programmes depending on how I feel when the rep is doing them. Also he told me that every 4/6 weeks the reps come over from Great Britain for a clinic and each time that occurs I will be sent an invite to that clinic. Then its up to me whether I want my stim tweaked again or not. So I could effectively see my rep every 4/6 weeks. Im sure I wont need to but its also good to know that they are there if and when I might need them. So good news all around

Jackie
