Default Thynoma and MG

HI Everyone! So happy to have found this site. I'm 55 and I was told of my MG after experiencing a drooping eyelid and double vision over summer vacation. An MRI was done along with blood work, that confirmed my condition. I refuse to call it a disease! All of this since July of this year. I have a growth on my thymus gland and am having surgery to remove it on the 16th of September. I had hoped to find someone who could do the removal without the complete opening of the chest cavity, but just couldn't find anyone who does that in the Raleigh/Durham area or in NC. That was pretty depressing, but I have been told that the procedure is really done this way to make sure that all of the gland is removed. Understand that the healing will take 4 to 6 weeks. I'm so blessed to have a job where I can afford to take that much time off work. My heart goes out to everyone with this ailment. Any stories about surgery and this condition that I should know about or that would be helpful? Thanks and I look forward to reading about everyone's wonderful success stories as we travel down the road on this unexpected medical journey.
