One In Torment May Say:
By Kenneth E. Thomas

Oh if only I would have studied the Bible:
For now I realize it is truly God’s word;
If only I’d considered the evidences given;
I’d have believed and not thought it absurd!
Now that I have stood before Jesus Christ;
And have heard His pronouncement, “depart;”
I’m aware that I’ve wasted vital time on earth;
When I could have been preparing my heart!
I believe Jesus is God’s only begotten Son;
But a fat lot of good that does me now!
I lived to please self and Satan on earth;
And I’m justifiably in eternal torment now!
I rejected God’s love and His mercy;
Not believing that Jesus died for my sins;
Yes, “I did my own thing” while living;
And so now I must pay the price in the end!
All have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory;
And there is only one sufficient cleansing power;
It is the precious blood that Jesus shed in His death;
So friend be “baptized into His death” this hour!
(Rom. 3:23; 6:23 ; Rom. 1:16-17; 1 Cor. 15:1-4;
Mat. 28:18-20; Mk. 16:15-16; Acts 2:22-38;
Jno. 8:21-24; Acts 17:30-31;Rom. 6:3-6; Rom. 6:16-18).
