I don't know Antonia... It is hard to say. The Vit C studies come from the UK... and were done several times in different situations, so I think they confirm each other. The benefits were seen because the Vit C was used right at the time of the surgery or trauma. I haven't seen similar studies for time frames long after that healing period.

Some used 500mg a day and some 1000mg a day.
Both seemed to work. Not 100% but pretty well ..good enough to pass statistical variances.

Antioxidants do help with healing. And Vit C is considered an antioxidant. Vit C is also involved with collagen.

You might want to look at my magnet thread. I've been using them on my stiff fingers and after only 2 days, I have significant improvement, and haven't needed them further!
Magnets do alot things for us... and they don't get much "press" either. I am using only high gauss very strong ones. I find only one properly placed works... I have lost two of them, and given one to a friend. But I have 7 left. They are very economical and they do work.

These are now on Amazon

I use these now, because they are "easier" and have the nice coating. I don't stick them on, but hold them where I want them for about 20 minutes. That is all I did for my hand.
You can do it watching TV or lying in bed, if you are having trouble falling asleep. If you want them on your back, you would have to resort to medical tape. I find these new ones so strong that wearing them all day is just not necessary.
(I got mine at Ebay, but I see now Amazon has them too).

You put the RED side towards the body. (the green side may increase pain sensations).
