Frown Impaired vision due to possible brain damage

My wife had a very bad fall last April. An MRI revealed that she had a stroke sometimes in the past. She spent about a month in the hospital and another month in a Continuous Care Center recovering from a broken hip and a broken shoulder. She also substained a very large cut over her right eye which looked very ugly for a time. The hospital personel didn't seem too concerned about this, however. While in Continuous Care, I had an opthmatologist examine her and he said that her vision problems could be corrected with new eyeglasses. I had three different pairs made and she still cannot see very well. Her doctor is unable to explain this condition. The MRI did show some swelling on the right side of her brain, but the doc said that this would go away eventually. It has not. What should I do to help my wife??
