Default Question about USB

I just took a walk and I passed a computer store and they are having a sale on HP printers. $49.00 with two ink cartridges. This HAS to be NEWER than my HP DESKJET 882C.

The person said "you have to have a USB port", I said "Oh, no parallel" And she said "no only USB"

Now I have things plugged into the back of my computer in their various ports.
My webcam, my mouse, etc.

I just stuck the camera in the back of my computer and made a video.

whatever is back there, do you see any available USB ports?

I just noticed on the front of my computer tower. There is a USB 2.0. I have an HP Media Center PC and on the front of my tower there are several slots.

One says SmartMedia/xD, one is MMC/SD, Compact Flash I/II (which I gather is a flash drive? then there is a slot that says Memory Stick/PRO, then there is a slot that says USB 2.0

I can use that 2.0 thing for a printer, right?

Thanks much

melody
Because if I can get a new HP printer and it comes with 2 ink cartridges, why would I pay $30 and $20 respectively for cartridges for my old printer?

Makes sense to replace it, no??
