Yes, the pain did get worse after the discogram. What you need to do is use ICE for 20 minutes every 2 hours. Keep doing this. Do NOT use the ice any more than this!!! You can damage the skin, plus if you use it any longer, you'll cause MORE pain. So just stick to that schedule!! My neurosurgeon taught me this. It DOES work, I promise you. It reduces swelling and inflammation and dulls the pain. NEVER, ever use heat on a sore back!!
