Give it a little longer... I did scan the net for your problem and found very little...so it will take time.
In the meantime I'd consider a slow fungal infection...similar to tinea versicolor (where typical normal fungi become pathological) and also get Herpes blood testing. The long period of normalcy you describe suggests there is a trigger...hidden somewhere. You just have to be a detective.
