Shoes are critically important for PNers with foot pain.

It takes me a LONG time to find a comfortable shoe or slipper these days.

I cannot find durable slippers anywhere. And to illustrate this,
I bombed out at Famous Footwear 2 weedends ago.
But last week we went to a super WalMart (it is a modest drive to it), and they have no benches to rest thru out the store! And I need to sit down for a few minutes after 1/2 hr of walking, so I dragged myself over to the shoe department which had tiny sit down areas for the shoes. Right across from me were a whole wall of slippers! How timely! LOL

So I tried some on. I have this instep problem with my left foot, which had the operation, and now big scar, and in the last 2 years it has become very sensitive if anything hits it a certain way. Well, I found a pair of men's memory foam slippers with good traction, that worked for me! $11 . I had to get a "large" which is not good for stairs, as the tips tend to trip me. So I change into my sandals to go up and down, but wear the new ones around the house. The swelling in that left foot has gone down over the summer, so I hope whatever set it off, is over and it will be more normal. All the doctors and podiatrists I've shown it to, give me a blank look since the surgery was done 50 yrs ago and was for a rare thing. No answers are forthcoming on it, so all I can do for now is pick footwear that does not aggravate it!

I haven't worn a fashionable shoe in over 20yrs now. The nicest I have is a black Arcopedico slip on.
