As the supersmart people at this forum have pointed out, "idiopathic" simply means that there's a cause for the neuropathy - it just isn't found.
My NLD SFN burning (sort of) has become pretty much confined to the face, scalp, upper ears with dorsal spine tingly-type sensations and some minor tingling in the hands and feet. Face-flushing can be a component of NLD SFN AND Sjogren's and it feels like burning. Sometimes have a seconds-long burning in a small spot usually on a lower leg. Used to get sharp, stabbing quick pains almost anyplace, but don't have them anymore.
