I would be very careful to ensure that if you are using cinnamon that is actually what it is. There is a lot of cassia masquerading as cinnamon these days, they do not have the same properties, just smell similar. Cinnamon has a less strong aroma, more subtle. It is also a finer powder. Cassia is said to have adverse effects as it has high levels of coumarin which is banned in Germany. Daily intake of either should be kept low, but especially cassia.
