I suspect that it's worth it, if you start young, like Dej. Nursing homes can easily cost $5,000 per month. So, even if Dej has spent $25,000+ on coverage, it wouldn't take long to spend that if health care was needed there.

However, I expect that premiums increase dramatically with age, and would not be affordable for someone "entering retirement years", even without MS.

Statistics show that less than 5% of people over 65 reside in nursing homes, and, less than 20% of people over 85 live in nursing homes. I know that I have MS, but even 75% of people with MS do not end up in W/C's. I'm just hoping that I'll be OK without nursing home insurance, because I'm sure it's not possible to get it anymore, with my MS.
