So it sounds like you will only qualify for SSDI if you are making less than $1000 a month. I am not sure how much you make a month... are you working full time or part time? I'd suggest going to the website I listed up at the top and working through the steps. If you make more than $1000/month, then you wouldn't qualify, unless there is a special circumstance such as using the work incentives, which can be found here:
