Nov 3rd, Day after Indiana Elections
Wanted to chime in and give some thoughts on my son's second that I can
remember election day. Its been kind of interesting taking him to vote.
I also like to watch the ladies at the poles, I don't think they see very many young people at all. And I know they don't see anyone with a identification card until him. But he has never had a problem with it. Just a what kind
of id is this. Then put on my glasses so I can see what kind. In other words
they aren't really asking him.
Yesterday, at the end of the line. One of the ladies even said to him. If you need help reading it or anything just ask. LAst time he had to ask.
And in the end I was standing next to him and helped him. THis time, the
only help he needed was a word. Retain, so I changed it to keep. The judge.
And he could vote. And the ladies just shook their heads yes.. I like to think
they were taking notes.
Then at the end we had a question that was a paragraph or more. About
property tax, he looked like a deer with lights in his eyes. I just said, thats
the question we talked about out front. With the sign and what dad thinks
and he voted. He understood the issue. Reading it to him would have
confused him, it did me.
Heehee.
But it was a great experience, one I think every parent should have.
