Hello Debra,
I've had RSD/TOS since 83. Rsd went full body about 8 years later, which, it took 7 years for a diagnoses!! Imagine that?
I was in a second accident, neither my fault. Now a TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury), four herniated discs.
I've had a TENS unit, and, I found it to work on 'moderate' pain.
It's really just a blocker, that is to 'fool' your system to feel the TENS, rather than pain.
I've been on methadone for 20 years, cymbalta, valium, zanaflex, Lidocaine patches, and imetrex for migraine. This is the way it usually goes. When we find a knowledgable doctor, we get put on a 'cocktail' specific to our own symptoms.
And, if you must teach your doctor, that's a problem on top.
How long have you had your Doctor?
Like him?
Is he knowledgable in RSD?
If not, speak up.
Go to
rsdsa.org
do a search for a doctor. by zip code.
Join there too.
I've lost, literally millions to this disease, and the brain injury, but the loss of family, and those things are priceless.
I know loss, but I also know faith!
Keep that!
We're all here to help you!
Don't be afraid to PM me...
Yer new friend,
Pete
