Is it a vibrating buzz? Like a cellphone set on vibrate? You can feel it on your skin (I cant remember what that's called... a dysthesia?)

Or is it a noise in your ears? Like a roaring sound, or like a fly whizzing around your head, but inside your ear? (that would be tinnitus)

I've had tinnitus since I was a small child. I use white noise, like a tv in the background to keep me from going nuts. Or music playing on my laptop, very softly at night. Sometimes I just use a ceiling fan or my floor fan to make the noise in my ears get lost in the background. It gets worse when I've got a cold or an allergy thing going on. Or if I've been somewhere with loud noises, like a concert. Altho a screeching child can set off the roaring sound too. If the noise is loud enough, it seems to make the tinnitus rise in volume once I get away from whatever the loud noise is.

The tinnitus also gets worse when I'm having a vertigo attack.

I've had the vibrating buzz before, in my hands and side of my leg...and once last year when I this weird zapping buzz on the back of my head. (that was accompanied with pain. Sucked)
