I have a unit from Medtronic,a pain pump, and I have flown a few times. There is no easy way to get thru the gate. I have handed my card when it was my turn and have found that most people do not understand what that card means. I just tell them as I am standing to go thru the arch, and then wait for a women to come and pat me down. But, I do sugg that you go early as this will set you back in time. I hope you have better luck then I have ever had.
