I had my call with SS this morning. The lady was very nice, and we just covered basic questions about my assets/income/living conditions.

In the end, I was told that I'd be receiving monthly benefits, and that I would also get back pay. She could only release around $2000 up-front, and there would be more in 6 months. Medicaid is also there for me.

So, at long last, the application process is over with. I am very relieved.
