It was all I could do to go to school and do my homework. It was always hard to write a lot so I use to have to break it up some after school some early evening and then before I went to bed. I did graduate from high school, but for me that a was big accomplishment. After high school I went to county college part time, but that was also very hard with the RSD. When I was 21 my RSD had spread to my legs so it was so hard to get around in college for a while I went on a cane so that helped. My mom use to help too so that was helpful also. I did finally graduate with a associate degree, but it took it eight years to finish. I am fortunate that I was able to a degree. I know everything I want in life has been hard for me,but I guess if you stick with it you can accomplish it. I hope you found this post to be helpful or interesting. Take Care

Thanks for sharing, Laraine. I really appreciate hearing from you!

It is quite hard having RSD as a teen... there are so many things I cannot do anymore. I am trying to find new things to do, ways to help people, and old things that I can still do. For instance, I love working with sculpey clay. I can still do that, though it is quite difficult.

Also, many people don't understand. I love that I have been able to find forums (this ) and groups to chat with so I can get some support and understanding from people who have the same old RSD.

It's scary- especially when it spreads (it has spread a few times for me)... I have RSD in my legs and arms (you know that after reading me bio)... where all is your RSD???

School is a challenge- especially when pain or medications really effect your concentration level! I get lost when I am doing things... math is so much harder than it ever was, and school is quite a job overall.

When the Drs. first diagnosed you, what treatments did you start with? What was most effective/ least effective?

I sent you a PM. Did you get it?

Hope you don't mind all the questions. I have SO many questions, and appreciate hearing other's experiences. I always say that I am GOING to write a book someday, about RSD.

I get so lost with this sometimes... no one knows all the answers!! It is a nasty disease to have for sure. Pain stinks.

BTW, I LOVE your name!

Hope to hear from you more soon...
