Growing up I was an athlete & no matter what else was going on in my life I was alway on the go. There were times that I was so skinny the doctors were worried.
After my first really serious MS attack I COULD NOT participate in sports & such anymore & the weight packed on. Tried just about every diet would lose a few pounds & gain it back.
About 11 1/2 months ago I started having MS related swallowing problems. This seriously curtailed what I could eat & how much I could eat often I CANNOT EAT AT ALL & am limited to liquids. When this first started I was at my highest weight ever; today I am MORE THAN 80 POUNDS LESS than I was just under a year ago. The BAD PART is that comfort food was a big coping mechanism for me now I have no appetite & what I do eat USUALLY DOES NOT taste "right" because my tongue is numb.
I guess you could say (tongue in cheeks) that this is one of the MS symptoms that is a perk!
