Hi Peg ~ Yes, I've wanted to bang my head many times. Up until recently, my doc and I had been trying EVERYTHING to ease my severe spinal pain that has gone on for 25 years, and nothing worked. Finally after I talk to a doctor online, she suggested a simple combo - Fentanyl patch with Methadone, and it worked!!! I'd had severe back and right leg pain for 25 years following surgery for a herniated disc. Then I had a second surgery and that didn't work either. The sciatica was the worst. It felt like it went to the bone.

Now tho, the pain has switched to the OTHER side. LOL. God sure has a sense of humor. So here we go again. NUTS.

I know you're on Neurontin, but there is another drug that's LIKE Neurontin, but doesn't have the side effects, will help you lose weight and works better. It's Topamax - you might just get better results from it - you could be USED to the Neurontin. Ask your doc to switch you to Topamax and see what happens. This drug saved me - it took away all the burning/hot-poker/stabbing/water running down the leg feeling that I had. I have NONE of that anymore. I'm on 400mg per day and I've been on that dose for about 10 years!!! I haven't had to change the dose at all. Best of luck and God bless. Hugs, Lee
