Quick question. I am still unclear on how I am allowed to spend my SSI back pay, enough that I'm afraid to.

Would it be okay to buy a laptop with it? Am I allowed to use it however I want? I know the monthly benefit (small as it is) must go towards necessities, but the backpay is confusing me.
