Default Wow. Pharma-porn.

Wow. Just wow.
Health Canada in Ottawa has long been a photocopy service distributing Big Pharma's press releases; the on-again off-again non-shortage shortage of Sinemet being the most hilarious recent pharma-porn in Canada - even Apotex, the only maker of sinemet in the Great White North, seemed surprised how easily they could turn the production of sinemet off and then have it turned on again, without a whisper, or at least without a public whisper, from Health Canada. So at the federal level the coast is clear for Big Pharma, and they save money on photocopies.
But on the left coast B.C. had this excellent system - people not on the payroll of the drug marketers were checking out the drugs. And not accepting bribes.... errr... "consulting fees".
And our Liberals pulled the plug, and did so with a remarkably nasty spirit of vengeance.
Did I mention that actual patients and actual doctors and actual health scientists were not part of these meetings? Are you surprised? Do you think the Liberals will somehow have lots of money to spend during the next election? Are you surprised?
It's all fun until someone gets hurt. Health care should not be in the hands of people who do not care about health. When dealing with human sickness and suffering, there should be some factors involved other than greed and love of power.
