Weight Gain & Neurontin -- Science Behind This?
I've recently started taking Neurontin for a nerve issue and all I keep hearing about is weight gain as a side effect.
Is there some actual science behind the reasoning?
While my bodybuilding is behind my current condition, it's also responsible for my knowledge of the laws of thermodynamics. You can't gain fat unless you are eating in a caloric surplus.
Is there something about Neurontin that lowers your daily caloric requirements? Thus, making it easier to eat "over maintenance calories?"
Or is this just an issue of eating more (due to stress, depression, etc.) and moving around / exercising less (due to inability to do so)?
Just trying to find out what I'm up against.
Thanks.
