My mother-in-law broke her hip 6 years ago and at the time she had a choice to just have pins and whatever to hold it together or have it replaced. She chose the pins and now is in pain and walks with a limp and very bent over but refuses to do anything, and I mean anything even up to seeing a doctor, about it. Thank you Dianna for the well wishes, i am hoping that my niece will be able to post a progress report.
Its a pitty that your mother in law didn't go for the hip replacement, sure, there are risks with any operation, but the percentage of anything going wrong is pretty slim these days.
